The match between Royal Challengers and The Knight Riders was in full swing. My son Nikhil, all of 19 years, a great Sharukh and Ganguly fan was cheering lustily for Colcutta team, being reprimanded by my husband Prakash who thought it unpatriotic that his son should be opposing the HOME team. My kid daughter Rashmi, who has just entered her teens was torn between the two “warring” teams, not really knowing whom should she support, was looking hopefully at me for some lead. Me??? Though my heart is with Bangalore, I have never been a fan of Mr.Dravid , always hating his aloof stance on the field, his uninspiring leadership and his somehow disinterested body language as a captain, felt greatly disappointed with the formation of Bangalore Team especially with the captaincy.
So whom do I support? My son cajoles me that I should always support a Good Team which of course means Sharukh’s and my husband like any loyal Bangalorean, bats for Royal Challengers.
So after a lot of deliberations, I have a taken a decision that I am neither for nor against any team. It is not as if my adreline pumps when Ganguly hits a six or I am greately affected when Dravid gets out, though I felt sorry for millions of Bangaloreans who must have been disheartened with the meek submission of their home team. Atleast a fight and a loss would have been a lot more solacing than this dismal performance.
So what lesson has this taught me?
It is indirectly a GUIDE IN ART OF LIVING for me….. AS LORD KRISHNA PUTS IT, “ WHATEVER HAS HAPPENED HAS HAPPENED FOR GOOD…. WHATEVER HAPPENING IS HAPPENING FOR GOOD……AND WHATEVER IS GOING TO HAPPEN TOO IS GOING TO BE GOOD……YESTERDAY BELONGED TO SOMEBODY….TODAY IS YOURS…….TOMORROW IS GOING TO BELONG TO SOMEBODY………..CHANGE IS PERMANENT……..” . So I will take it as it comes.
IF ONLY I COULD ADOPT THIS STANCE TO EVERYTHING ELSE IN LIFE !!!!!
